Offbeat Internet
Public Access
IMAP
The Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) is an email receiving protocol. It is similar to the POP email receiving protocol, but adds additional mailbox sharing and message sorting capabilities. IMAP uses the URI "imap://". Below are addresses of IMAP servers on which public access is freely given* (each host has their own method of being contacted).
[IANA Port assignment = 143]
* Please note that the hosting "postmaster" must create a primary mailbox address on the IMAP server, where your email can be received and stored.
